Beefing is in the air: Travis Kelce Does Not like saquon Barkley’s $41.2 Million Extension,He wasn’t afraid to express his feelings which is right or not

Saquon Barkley has emerged as one of the biggest winners in the NFL over the past several weeks. After helping lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl victory against the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, the 2024 AP Offensive Player of the Year was rewarded with a massive two-year contract extension worth $41.2 million.
Barkley’s big-money deal was one of the topics of conversation during Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast with Chiefs star Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason.
The brothers were quick to congratulate the Eagles star for his extension as they were amazed by how Barkley is now set to pocket an average of $20.6 million per year over the next two seasons.
Both Travis and Jason Kelce, however, also reacted to the $15 million incentive component of Barkley’s new contract.
“Eeww,” Travis Kelce said. “I don’t like that one bit. … Does he have to get a 2,000-yard season every year?”
Jason Kelce then went on to explain how his contract with the Eagles looked during his time with the team.
“The way I used to be structured, there’d be like playoff incentives, Super Bowl incentives, Pro Bowls, All-Pros,” Jason Kelce said. “And then with running backs you usually add in yards.”
Travis Kelce didn’t like that either.
“So you have to rely on someone’s vote to get your incentive?” Travis Kelce asked. “… That’s (expletive) up.”
What the brothers also agreed on is that Barkley, whom Travis called “one of the leaders” of the Eagles, deserves every penny of his new contract.
