Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs lawyers make bombshell statement about plea deal
New York born rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyer Marc Agnifilo has been keeping the public updated on his client’s upcoming court battle amid allegations of sex trafficking and transportation.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyer has commented about the rapper’s refusal to accept plea deal, after he was charged with sex trafficking.
The musician’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has spoken out about the ongoing case, which has seen a federal grand jury in New York choose to bring an indictment against him.
The 54-year-old faces charges of sex offences, as well as transportation to engage in prostitution, with the indictment alleging he “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfil his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct” from 2008.
Now, his attorney has said Combs maintains his innocence, stating that a plea deal is off the table ahead of the trial, with the artist adamant he will clear his name.
The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Agnifilo says: “I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand. I think he’s very eager to tell his story.”
Referring to CCTV footage showing Combs physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016, the high-profile lawyer explained: “I think he will tell every part of his story, including what you see on the video. He has his story, and he has a story that, I think, only he can tell in the way he can tell it in real time. It’s a human story. It’s a story of love, it’s a story of hurt, it’s a story of heartbreak.”
He added: “When he describes that relationship, the word he uses more than any other word is heartbreak. He was heartbroken. She was heartbroken.”
Although the comments have not aged well, Agnifilo insisted during Combs’ first hearing that his client is “an innocent man with nothing to hide.”
